Quarantimes

In mid-March 2020, just as the COVID-19 pandemic was heating up in NYC, I stayed in Florida at my parents’ house for a month and a half. Out of an abundance of caution, I quarantined in the back bedroom for the first two weeks. The room sports bright orange walls, painted by my sister in high school.
About a week in, I needed to turn off the non-stop firehose of news and focus on something else. I started reporting what was going on in my room, and then, later in the house. The rules were simple: the news must be extremely boring. At the time, we didn’t need more breaking stories.
Published nightly on my Instagram stories, the Quarantimes was born. There are 31 total issues of the Quarantimes with multiple guest columnists. All the issues are posted here and are now Riso printed in a special edition.
